Spot of the
World's Biodiversity.
As a matter of fact, Costa Rica has one of the highest biodiversity in the whole planet, with morethan 5% of the species in such as small territory and not more than 19,710 sq miles (51,060 sq km). Its natural wealth, both in species and ecosystems, is partly explained by its geographical position. To sum things up, the country is set in between two oceans the Pacific and the Atlantic, where the land create a bridge, connecting North and South America, allowing life of all nature to come across.
This bridge has been created by volcanic activity forming new territories as rugged geography that includes mountains, valleys, and lowlands, providing the right conditions for many types of microclimates. Subsequently, around 25% of this lush tropical forest is under protection, national parks, wildlife, biological reserves, and private areas were created to preserve this country’s richness. All those areas provide home for more than 920 sp of birds, 250 sp of mammals, around 200 sp of reptiles, and much more flora and fauna species.
The national park system was developed in this country in the 1970s providing visitors an easy access to protected areas, offering the opportunity to enjoy the wildlife like colorful birds, monkeys, iguanas, sloths, frogs, butterflies, and many other creatures will be there.

A FAVORITE WHILE IN Costa Rica
We went out on a 3.5 hour boat trip that this company arranged with a local guide. Our guide and boat captain were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We saw many animals and birds.
The day of the tour came together easily. We were met at the predetermined
location and time in the town of Sierpe and were the only two on the tour as we opted out of using one of the companies with larger boats. This was a great decision, the boat was a
clean panga boat with a sun cover. The guide provided coconut water, juice and water . It was a wonderful tour, it is beautiful in the mangroves of the Sierpe.

We would like to thank Birding Tico Tours, and particularly Charlie, for arranging our birding trip in Costa Rica from 19-29 December. The accommodations at Cerro Lodge, Talari, Suria, La Selva, and Poas ranged from appealing to excellent (Poas). The food was
great everywhere except La Selva (where Herman got poisoned). Herman Venegas is an extraordinary birding guide.
He gave 100% even during the time he was suffering from
the poisoning. We would be happy to serve as references for Birding Tico Tours and
Herman Venegas. We do not FACE, TWEET, TWIT, or any of those things that require passwords so potential clients would have to contact us for references.
Nuevamente, gracias y buena suerte en 2015.

Herman was, as always, incredible! He is an exceptional young man whose knowledge,
enthusiasm, guidance and kindness made every aspect of our trip enjoyable and special. I cannot say enough about how amazing he is. Once again, he took such wonderful care of us
and worked so very hard to ensure we had another tour of a lifetime. We feel so blessed to have found him. Thank you for providing us with your very best. I know there is no better guide in all of Costa Rica! My life has been enriched by him, and I am honoured to
call him my friend.
I very much appreciate you getting my shoes to me. It was my error and I hope it did not cause you too much difficulty or cost. I apologize for my forgetfulness. Also, please do not hesitate to contact me for a recommendation for Birding Tico Tours
and / or Herman.

A most enjoyable trip with Hermann who was an outstanding guide both in his
knowledge of the birds but also a great raconteur about the history and culture of the
country.
I do not know what the future holds. I do pray I will return once again to Costa Rica to
bird with Herman. If I am so fortunate, I will most certainly contact you for
arrangements. Until then, all the best.
