This tour has been created for customers that have more or less 7 days in the country or need a good experience in the Rainforest of Costa Rica, nonetheless if you like the birds and you can have more days in the country we can make and extension for you to make this tour even better.
The star of this tour is The Snowcap hummingbird (Microchera albocoronata) a small bird that is found in the mountainous regions of Central America, but mainly in the Valley of Turrialba in Costa Rica. The Snowcap is known for its striking appearance, with the male having a brilliant white cap on its head and a metallic Red-Wine body.
Snowcap is the star; however, the area is well known for many more hummingbirds do to the fact you cover the highlands of Irazu and Turrialba Volcano in this tour.
The tour is not going to be just about hummingbirds, but many others like the famous Sunbittern (Eurypyga helias) which is considered to be a unique bird in appearance when it opens its wings. This bird is found in the tropical regions of Central and South America, where it inhabits forested areas near rivers and streams, and this tour offers those special habitats for you as well as a good chance to see and appreciate the bird.
